Tom was going down to Torquay to attend a funeral. As he pulled in to the Sedgemoor services, who should be walking towards him but Charlie Landsborough, and they had a brief chat.
So we had to take the opportunity to see Charlie in concert when he was in our area.

After our trip to London to a rehearsal of the show, we were looking forward to the finished performance of the musical Rhinestone Mondays, when we were invited to the intimate The Mayflower theatre in Southampton.
The plot develops from an obscure social club hosting a line dance group through a series of comedies and tensions into a rip roaring finalé with everyone in the theatre up and dancing, from front to back and top to bottom.

It took five years of planning to get the musical Mondays of the ground, finding the right artists and venues where to perform, but now it is rehearsing time and we were invited to a media day of rehearsing and interviews in London Studios Dance Attic.

We took the chance to speak to the main characters: Shaun Williamson (Eastenders, Extras, Porridge); Faye Tozer (Steps, Tell Me on a Sunday); Ian Watkins (Steps, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and Lyn Paul (New Seekers, Blood Brothers).

Another Country winner this year, following Carrie Underwoods’ fabulous career from 2005, and she has gone on to become the best selling winner ever on the contest. Josh Gracin, Bucky Covington and Kellie Pickler rose to fame from this contest.
The eventual winner, Scotty McCreedy, teamed up with Tim McGraw and gave us an astounding version of Live Like You Were Dying.
The runner-up, Lauren Alaina, sang Before He Cheats with Carrie Underwood, no less.

While being in London for a couple of meetings, we took the opportunity to visit the BorderLine in London. Many famous Country acts from Garth Brooks to Faith Hill have performed there. Even though it was a Wednesday night, the performance of Madison Violet, a couple of very talented young ladies from Canada, filled the club.
